Panferova Victoria Alekseevna

Good afternoon, Victoria! Would you like to participate in a short interview and tell us about your experience of studying at MCU ?

Hello, with pleasure!

Do you work in your specialty, maybe you teach French or a second foreign language that you chose at the university?

At the moment I do not work in my specialty. My job is related to marketing, I am engaged in the development of notifications. I don't teach languages – neither French nor English, which was the second.

How much time did it take you to find a job and was it easy to find it in principle?

It took me a month to find a job from the year of graduation (2016), I started with the simplest position, now I lead a small group in a large IT company.

Are you currently engaged in scientific activity? Are you continuing your studies at the moment (Master's, postgraduate studies)? Is it possible to combine with work ?

I am not engaged in scientific activity, I do not plan to continue my education in this specialty. But this does not prevent me from constantly developing in the field where I work now. I really see myself in this at the moment.

What were your career plans when you graduated, and did they coincide with reality?

When I graduated from university, I didn't understand what I wanted to do. Practice in the 4th year made it clear to me that I don't want to work at school, my nerves won't stand it. I was thinking of getting a job as an HR specialist, but as a result, everything turned out a little differently.

Why did you choose MCU?

Why did I choose MCU? Trying to figure out where I want to study, I attended open days. When I entered the building on the Small State-owned, I realized that this was it! No remnants of the USSR, a stylish modern building. I also liked the attitude towards applicants. This was the decisive factor. I studied at a special school, I knew French well, so I wanted to get an education in this field. All my expectations regarding training have been met! I received a high-quality, timely and interesting education. The teaching staff played a very important role in this.

- In your opinion, what qualities should a student have in order to get a job in his specialty? What qualities should a student have in order to get a job in his specialty?

First of all, he must know the language well, this is not even discussed. Motivation is a very important point. He should want to teach, work with children. Of course, for this you need to have perseverance and patience)

What, in your opinion, from the university curriculum helped you most to adapt to your professional activities?

Since I do not work in my specialty, it was not the training itself, not the program that helped me to adapt to my professional activity. The atmosphere in the team itself was more important. The fact that I was a prefect and a laboratory assistant at the department helped me the most. That is, in my student life there was not only communication with classmates at the basic level, but also constant communication with teachers, the dean's office. This taught me how to solve organizational issues and helped me acquire soft-skills.

Have you ever had a desire to take part in an internship? Maybe you have interned? Tell us briefly about which countries you have visited and about the experience you have gained. I really, really wanted to get an internship abroad, like all my classmates. However, when I was studying, there was no such opportunity at our department. We just quietly (not always) envied the guys from German and Italian who went on internships in Germany, Italy and other countries. Many of them not only picked up their language there, but also found their love :)

What wishes would you express to your institute?

What wishes would I leave for MCU? Grow, thrive, improve. To remain at the same level of quality, involvement in student life, motivation of teachers. I think I was very lucky with most of the teachers! I do not regret that I studied at MCU and I am very glad that higher education can be like this, and not like in many other universities - boring and monotonous. I would also like students to be given the opportunity to attend various excursions, training, and internships not only in their main specialty, but also in related ones. For example, one day we were taken on an excursion to the office of a large company engaged in translations and intercultural activities, and then I realized that I wanted to work not in school, but rather in this environment. Patience and creativity to teachers, success and interest to students!
