“The student must have perseverance, and the graduate must know his subject well”.
- Hello, Evgeny! Could you tell us how your life turned out after graduating from the Institute of foreign languages and share your impressions in general?
- Hello, of course!
1. Do you work within your specialty?
- Currently, I am not working within my specialty. I worked as a tutor for a while, but at the moment I use English and French every day, as I work as a translator at the S.I. Lavochkin Scientific production association (a captive company of Roscosmos).
2. How long did it take you to find a job and was it easy to find one?
- It was not easy to find a job, and the search itself took some time. I found a job through my acquaintance, thanks to a graduate classmate.
3. Are you continuing your studies at the moment (master's degree, postgraduate studies)?
- I entered the master's program, but at the moment I am not continuing my studies, since I work as a translator.
4. Why did you choose MCU? How satisfied are you with your education ?
- At the time of my enrollment, MCU was the best university where languages are studied. I am very satisfied with the education I received at the university and I can say that I use 90% of the knowledge gained during studying.
5. In your opinion, what qualities should a future graduate have in order to get a job within his specialty?
- A student should have perseverance, and a graduate should know his subject well.
6. Which subjects of the university's curriculum helped you most to adapt to professional duties?
- Learning foreign languages.
7. Have you ever desired to take part in an internship?
- Yes, there was such a desire. During my studies, I took part in many volunteer projects. I have visited France. At the moment I am on probationary training period.
8. How do you find your final level of knowledge when graduating from MCU? Have you thought that you could confidently teach French?
- I started learning French at school, but at the university my knowledge was only enough for one month of study. At the end of my studies, in the 4th year, I passed the Delf B2 exam and received a certificate. In the 1st year of the master's degree, I was offered to write a C1 exam, which I successfully passed, but this was not confirmed in any way. Now I have a level B2-C1.
9. What wishes would you express to your institute?
- I believe that the institute should pay more attention to specialized subjects.
